Ogród Fauny Polskiej ZOO (Polish Wildlife Zoo) is located in Forest Park of Culture and Recreation. It covers an area of 14 hectares. The decision was taken for its construction in 1970, but it was officially opened 19th July 1978. The petting area, the so-called mini-zoo, was founded in 1990 and gives especially the youngest the possibility of direct contact with animals. In 2004 it opened a new department, "Places of the World" with species representing different continents. Here you find the habitat of the ringtailed lemurs, meerkats and Japanese macaques. In 2005, opened the so-called. "Miniterrarium" with an exposures of amphibians and reptiles, and a classroom.
